I won’t find you here
This far from the suburbs dear.
I won’t find you among the corn.
Big city streets and lights they’re calling
Warm city nights
And music hollering.
I don’t have what it takes for
White picket fencing.
I wanna run amuck in the city.
I wanna leave the Midwest
And head to the coasts.
I wanna see the oceans
I wanna see the stars eclipsed
Then I want to see them burn
And see the stars come out.
And then I want you
In my arms,
A toss into oblivion
My past just that the past
And I’ll remember every step
Every footprint in the sand
Because I know you and I
We were inseperable for a time
And those will always be in my heart
But it’s time for a new start.
